"What'll you
do?" is among the earliest gramophone records we sold that includes a vocal
track.
Recorded for Woolworths by Vocalion, these Little Marvel records first went on
sale in 1923.
At the time every record had to carry a halfpenny stamp to show that a copyright fee had been paid.
The record was
intended to play at 80 revolutions per minute. We had to get ourselves and
original 1920s wind-up gramophone to be able to play it. This is what your
grandparents or
great grandparents might have danced to!
